Nyota Ndogo is thankful to her neigbours for saving her three-bedroomed house from a fire that would have razed it to the ground. The singer, known for her hit song Watu Na Viatu, told Word Is she cannot believe how “kind her neighbours are” to have cared enough “to put out a fire that would have totally burnt down my house in Voi”.
Nyota who lives in Mombasa said: “I did not know that there was a fire near the place where I have built my house until way after the neighbours who live close to that area had managed to put it out. They then called me to tell me what had happened. I’m so thankful to them because they don’t know me personally but they risked their lives to make sure the fire did not burn down my property.” She added: “That goes to show that there are good people out there.” Nyota was recently in Nairobi to record a collaboration with singer Kaz – real name Karen Lucas.
