Vampire Diaries' Season 3 Teaser: We Break Down The Awesomeness

You guys! It’s here! After countless teasers and scoops these past few weeks (and even one blink-and-you'll-miss-it sneak peek of Damon), The CW has finally released a full-blown, 30-second promo for the new season of "The Vampire Diaries"…and it looks EPIC. From Stefan taking a bite out of the action (literally), to Elena’s longing looks, there’s just too much deliciousness to discuss. Watch the promo now and keep reading below for our breakdown. (Beware! Spoilers abound!)

Okay, first of all, can we please discuss how Stefan is like an entirely different character? I mean, we’ve seen him be bad before but not THIS bad. The gentle soul we knew from seasons past is now off chomping on unsuspecting victims with Klaus by his side, and from what we can tell, one of his late night snacks is a familiar face. (Let’s just say Mystic Falls may be short one news reporter after next season.)

Of course, while Stefan is off causing trouble, Elena is at home brooding about her missing man (on her 18th birthday no less!). Not that she’s entirely alone, though. Damon is there to keep her company, while also lending a hand with trivial tasks...like, say, helping her put on a necklace (we're swooning already).

As for Caroline, well, it looks like some romance is certainly on the horizon for her. In the promo, we get a tiny tease of Caroline right as she's about to hop into bed with Tyler. Sleepover anyone?

The teaser tops off with a confrontation between Stefan and Damon, in which Damon succinctly points out that his younger brother is "over the edge" (way to state the obvious Salvatore). Ian Somerhalder told us recently that Damon's got a lot of frustration toward his brother for ditching him for Klaus, and it's clear that some of it may come to a head in that moment.

Anyway, we are now more riled up than ever about about the season premiere on September 15 (job well done, CW), and we have no doubt that the moments in this promo are just the beginning of all the juiciness yet to unfold. Now, to figure out how we're going to get through the next month...
