[UPDATE] Police: excessive alcohol could be cause of Kanumba’s death

 

Kinondoni Regional Police Commander Charles Kenyela said that even though the investigation is still ongoing they are leaning towards excessive intake of whiskey, Jack Daniels, as being Steven Kanumba’s primary cause of death.

Commander Kenyela said that the main suspect in this tragic event, Elizabeth Michael ‘Lulu’ denied pushing the late Kanumba during her interrogation. In her statement Lulu said that an argument started when she left the room to answer a phone call, something which upset Kanumba and made him question her on who would call her at such hours and why she’d have to go outside to answer the phone. After accusing her of it being another man she decided to make a run for it before things escalated, however Kanumba caught up with her and dragged her back in the house

Lulu further tells in her statement that soon after Kanumba closed the door behind them she begun seeing him loose consciousness, hit the back of his head on the wall and fall to the ground.

Commander Kenyela assured that a thorough investigation is ongoing, and that as soon as all evidence is collected Lulu will be taken to court for prosecution.

At the same time the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete also paid his respects to the late Steven Kanumba as shown in the below picture.
